Old Fashioned Farm Crafted Lard Soaps

Thanks to a generous donation of kunekune lard from Lilac Acres Farmstead, I was able to offer soap again this year. In addition, I completely cleared out my leaf lard "stash" to accommodate the popularity of my soaps versus my salves & balms.

The soaps shown here are my final amounts after the pre-order that was just held, and are the last available quantities. I don't anticipate any large quantities of lard enabling me to repeat this year's soapmaking efforts.

Cold process soaping is a long process, as the soap has at least a 30 day cure time and involves various steps along the way such as unmolding, trimming & beveling, polishing, steaming and then labeling.
My soaps are a traditional "fits in the palm of your hand" size, not cut from a loaf in a slab shape. Old fashioned lard soap is made through a cold process, using lye, which creates a chemical reaction between the fat, yielding... soap. Contrary to popular belief, lye soap isn't harsh. Soap that is properly cured will not be drying or irritating to the skin. Lard is a fat most similar to the sebum produced by our own skin, making it gentle and suitable for sensitive or dry skin.

Have questions? Feel free to contact me through the order form.

If you are local and would like to pick up at the farm in person, just send me a PM with the items you'd like. You can pay in person in cash if you prefer. If you are a member of St. Paul the Apostle Parish, I can also bring your order and meet you before or after the Mass I'm attending.

All soaps do indicate a price increase due to the higher incurred costs of lye, fragrances, and other ingredients.
